So cool website with really modest about page March 22, 2010

This is the coolest pixel-like website I’ve ever visited. Whole ambient is awesome with Super Mario sounds and a big cursor. You can also navigate through the website without mouse using your keyboard arrows, totally funny. Teo Skaffa likes drawing cats and his portfolio is full of crazy and very creative stuff. Do not forget to click on his head on the right bottom, for latest news. Visit teoskaffa.com and enjoy, it’s better than Sega’s Sonic.

DwA in Pixel Art! March 2, 2010

This morning was so boring in the school, so I’ve enjoyed the Twitter timeline and listened Papa Roach on my iPod until I saw my friend Nasc has published a new pixel art on his blog. He drew a TV News tower with the “Die without Art” sign on it. Nasc has included several things in tribute to the site and Twitter users who support him, including my blog, DwA.

With his young daughter Nasc has watched Disney’s new computer-animated film “Up!”, so he paid homage to the man with balloons in the work area. Can you find him? He’s so little, I know. You can see a bigger picture here.

Thank you so much Nasc and welcome to DwA‘s *friends with creative brains* (not just a sidebar blogroll). Respect!

Keep receiving DwA signals from the tower!

Make Pixel Not War, by Nasc February 1, 2010

I always wanted to know how they made Pixel art. It’s a very interesting technique. Searching for some artists I found Nicolas also know as Nasc, a 32 years old French guy who is doing Pixel art over 8 years. Great! As usually, I wanted to know more and more so I sent him an email.

Nicolas is the head of Flash in a Web agency, based in Paris. His passion for the Pixel art certainly came from video games (8-bit games, where each pixel was important) and Lego, when he was young. Nicolas prefers 3D isometrics, because he thinks it’s a bit like 3D handmade.

One of his latest creations is a remake of an old Pixel art creation that reminded Tiananmen Square. Nicolas is pretty happy with this item, because he could apply new techniques of drawing. “Make Pixel Not War” took approximately 15 hours, because he worked each element separately and finally assembled them into a full scene, which allows him to reuse some.

Follow Nicolas on Twitter and find more geeky pixels on his website www.nasc.fr. From now, each time when I’ll play Minigore on my iPhone I’ll remember you, Nicolas. Keep on doing awesome pixels and please share your new works with us.

Hey there, dear friends.

I hope you understand how hard is doing everything alone to keep this blog alive. I've made it because I'm passionate about art & because I wanna celebrate it with you. I'm looking for more and I wanna share more, but I'm very busy doing commercial & personal photography work. So I paused a bit with blogging here.

You still can submit your art work and enjoy all hundered and ten published articles... till I come back with new interesting stories.

Make sure you have subscribed (rss) and you are following me on Twitter. Thanks. Much love!
