Light painting from the future September 21, 2010

This film explores playful uses for the increasingly ubiquitous ‘glowing rectangles’ that inhabit the world.

“Making Future Magic” is the goal of Dentsu London, the creative communications agency. BERG made this film with them to explore this statement. They developed a specific photographic technique for this film. Using long exposures they recorded an iPad moving through space to make three-dimensional forms in light. Each frame is a long exposure photograph of 3-6 seconds. 5,500 photographs were taken. Only half of these were used for the animations seen in the final edit of the film.

Amazing work, like the future is really here.

Digital Graffiti Wall at the Olympics March 1, 2010

Digital graffiti wall? Wow! Guys from Chairman Ting performed at the Salt Building inside the Athlete’s Village. They were commissioned by The Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Interesting fact is that Tangible Interaction have made this unique digital graffiti wall technology using Open Frameworks. Creative open source, for the win.

Now, artists can digitally “paint” a surface in the same way they can tag a wall with traditional spray paint.

Overdose Art February 7, 2010

Digital age came with many advantages and manipulation technique became daily routine in art industry. Luuk Vermeyden is one of them, who are making creative works on a digital (software) basis. He’s a 19 years old designer and illustrator from Rotterdam. I like his personal quote:

Your mind is the tool, Photoshop is just the canvas.

Remember that and express your imagination.

Overdose Art, by Luuk Vermeyden

Don’t worry you can’t overdose with art, but always be careful with your creative mess, some good ideas can disapear.

You can buy this print via deviantART and check out his portfolio at jaxestudios.com.

Hey there, dear friends.

I hope you understand how hard is doing everything alone to keep this blog alive. I've made it because I'm passionate about art & because I wanna celebrate it with you. I'm looking for more and I wanna share more, but I'm very busy doing commercial & personal photography work. So I paused a bit with blogging here.

You still can submit your art work and enjoy all hundered and ten published articles... till I come back with new interesting stories.

Make sure you have subscribed (rss) and you are following me on Twitter. Thanks. Much love!
